In October 2025, the Parents' Arts Society organised a 2-night, 3-day tour of the Western Front for 46 current and past Tonbridge parents. With a very early start, meeting at the TSC, the coach set off bound for the battlefields of Ypres and the Somme. The focus of the tour was Tonbridge's contribution to The Great War in 1914-18 and in particular to remember the 415 Tonbridge boys who were killed. The tour was excellently and memorably led by David Walsh, former Second Master, who together witih Sir Anthony Seldon wrote 'Public Schools and the Great War'. Katie Tribe, Chair of the PAS, accompanied David and ensured the group were where they needed to be and on time! Particular memories included readings at the tiny Devonshire cemetery on the Somme, where two OTs are buried; reflecting on the Tonbridge School plaque in St. George's Church in Ypres; the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate, where two wreaths were laid on behalf of the School and the TSPAS by Owen Clay and Katie Tribe, placing a cross on the grave of Eric Dougall VC at Westoutre near Ypres and hearing personal stories shared by those attending of their relatives.
