WILSON, Desmond Gabriel, Lt Col, TD JP DL
Died on 23 August, 2022, aged 91. Desmond was commissioned into the first battalion of The Queen’s Royal West Kent Regiment and transferred to The Queen’s Royal Regiment (West Surrey)TA in 1951 before commanding the 6th (V) Battalion The Queen’s Regiment between 1971-74.

Desmond’s voluntary work included District Commissioner of Reigate Scouts, and serving on the Surrey Scout Council. He was Chairman of the Venture Scouts as well as Chairman of the Rifle Club before becoming President.  He served as a Magistrate on the Reigate Bench and was made a DL in October 1976. 

His interests included pheasant breeding, sailing, shooting, and Victorian paddle steamers.

Died on 30 December 2022, after a period of declining health, aged 84. A passionate golfer and a dedicated member of the OTGS.

Passed away on 27 November, aged 86. Much loved husband of the late Gloria and father to Carolyn, Sarah and Joanne. David taught Russian, French, Greek, Latin and Divinity at Tonbridge School from 1975-1994 and ran the very successful golf team.

NICHOLSON, Peter Graham
Died on 18 September, aged 89. He was the much-loved husband of Nicola and father of Hatty, Adrian and Laura, grandfather of Lara and Katya.  A keen singer, actor and sportsman who will be greatly missed. After the Royal Navy and Cambridge he spent most of his career working for Selection Trust, travelling a great deal particularly to Australia.

Beloved, sorely missed and loving husband of Caroline for 58 years. Adored father of Toby, Michele, Polly, Emily and Justin. Devoted grandfather of Jacob, Luke, Tom, Ned, Max, Gus, Fin, Charlie, Jack, Issie, Daisy and Poppy. Died at home on 27 October 2022, aged 81. Funeral Service will be held on 25th November 2022 at Kent & Sussex Crematorium, Tunbridge Wells at 1 p.m., all friends welcome.

Died peacefully in Maryborough Vic Australia on September 1 2021, aged 82 years. Loved and loving husband of Wilma. Treasured father of Lyndon and Euan. A life well lived. Rest In Peace.

Died in France on 3rd July 2022 aged 84 years.
He is very much missed by his wife Jodie and her children Abigail, Ivan and Joshua. He was our rock and support and gave us a beautiful home and life in France. He is sorely missed by his older brother John Chettoe (SH 47-52) and his wife Roselyn.

EVANS, Norman Cassienet, The Reverend
Passed away on Tuesday 12 July 2022, aged 91. 
His funeral will be held on 1 August, at 3pm, at the Oxford Crematorium and there will be a reception afterwards at The Talk House. A Memorial Service will be held at Puttenham Church on 24 September at 3pm and afterwards at Marwick Hall.  All are welcome. CULLEN, John
John (1936-2022) died peacefully at his home in Woodstock on 1 July surrounded by his family. He was Director of Music at Tonbridge School from 1967-1993. He flourished in his role at Tonbridge and he had many happy memories of his time there. In particularly he regularly reminisced about conducting major works with the school choir and orchestra alongside the Tonbridge Philharmonic Society.

Died on 20 April 2022,aged 90.

OLDCORN, Richard
Died peacefully on 1 June 2022 whilst sleeping in Abbotsford, Australia, following some four years of deteriorating health - a sad situation for such an able sportsman. Richard learned to fence at Tonbridge, gained a blue for fencing whilst at Christ's College, Cambridge, and fenced for the British & Northern Ireland team in the Olympic Games of 1964, 1968 & 1972. He was subsequently the captain of the sabre team at the 1980 games. The best position the sabre team achieved at any games was seventh; he did not achieve a top eight position individually, but he did win a Gold medal as a member of England's sabre team at the Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica. He also gained a half blue for athletics (throwing discus) whilst at Cambridge.

Died peacefully, with his family by his side, on 7 June 2022, four weeks before his 90th birthday. Died on 18 December 2021 after a long illness, aged 91. Much loved husband of Susan and father to Sarah, Rebecca, Jennifer, Gregory and Nicolas. A chartered surveyor, Mike lived a full and active life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Died peacefully on 21 February 2022 at home in Great Barrow, Chester, aged 94. Tonbridge School Chemistry teacher from 1952-1955 and Head of Science from 1958-1965. An excellent rowing coach, Tim coxed the British Four at the 1948 Olympic Games. Much loved husband of Eileen and father of John and Jamie.

LIVERSEDGE, Dick
Passed away on 19 January 2022, aged 81.  Beloved husband to Jenny, and inspirational father to Dominic, Annabel and Belinda, and 5 grandchildren. He achieved so much in his life: competing in 3 winter Olympic Games, representing the GB luge team and a successful career as a top maxillofacial surgeon.  He will be greatly missed.
