Sir Anthony Seldon (HS 67-72) interviews Gerald Corbett (JH 65-70)
for The Tennant Lecture Series
'When Something Happens'
Wednesday 11 March 2026
Lecture in the EM Forster Theatre at 8pm
Drinks in the Theatre Foyer from 7.15pm
Sir Anthony Seldon (OT, author, educationalist, pundit extraordinaire) will combine in a double act with his school contemporary, Gerald Corbett, to interview Gerald about his new book When Something Happens. Described by Mike Brearley as a “lively, crisp and good humoured memoir “ and by Michael Portillo as "insightful and entertaining", Gerald writes about his life, his business career, and the many public companies and organisations of which he was a director, including most controversially Railtrack, and latterly the MCC. Subjects they will cover will include the institutions that shape us and their importance, and the role of ambition, success, failure, resilience and leadership in our changing world.
Gerald's book, which will be published in February, will be for sale at the event. Gerald has very generously agreed to match all proceeds with a donation to the Tonbridge Society.
This event is fully accessible.
