Guided Tour of Crossness Pumping Station
Thursday 5 February 2026
11am to 2pm
The Old Works, Thames Water S.T. W., Bazalgette Way,
Abbey Wood, London. SE2 9AQ
Back in the PAS programme by popular demand, we are excited to offer this incredible tour of Crossness Pumping Station. Built in 1865 by Sir Joseph Bazalgette as part of Victorian London's sewerage system, Crossness Pumping Station is a Grade 1 Listed industrial heritage site and a masterpiece of 19th-century engineering, architecture, and design.
Our private visit includes an introductory talk illustrating the public health crisis that led to the Great Stink of 1858, a guided tour of the buildings and engines (which can be smelly!) and tea or coffee and biscuits on arrival.
Why not have lunch afterwards at The Thamesmead Social, just a stone's throw from the Pumping Station.
Cost: £29.50
Places: 20
