Exploring the First Stirrings of Spring
on the Ashdown Forest
with local Ecologist and Foraging Guide, Ross Symonds
Monday 2 February 2026
9.30am to 12pm
Join local ecologist and foraging guide Ross Symonds for another insightful guided walk around a private conservation site in the heart of the Ashdown Forest. Ross will guide us in the identification of the first signs from nature that winter is loosening its grip and the forest is shifting into the spring awakening. We'll look for ecological clues like early growth, and subtle shifts in colour and sound. We'll hear Imbolc folk history, experience sensory foraging for early edible and medicinal plants, and discuss how the landscape starts to come alive again.
At the end of our exploration, we will enjoy a seasonal tea and a simple early-spring tasting together.
Places: 13
Cost: £39.00
