Dr James Evans (parent)
James has been a local GP for 18 years. He qualified from Barts & The London just before the Millennium and worked in London, Australia, and the South Coast before settling in the area. He has three teenage sons and is married to Sarah, who works as a Breast Surgeon in London. James will tell us about the role of a GP in his community and the rewards of the role, as well as the pressures currently placed on GPs
Dr Luke Purwar (SH 2007-12)
Luke qualified from UCL Medical School in August 2019, just prior to the covid pandemic, starting his career at Royal Surrey County Hospital (Guildford) and completed his Foundation Training at University Hospitals Sussex. He then opted to take Clinical Fellow roles and ad-hoc work to facilitate an MSc at Kings College London's Dixon Poon School of Law in Mental Health, Ethics and Law. Luke will tell us about his studies, the roles he has had and the reasons behind his decision to become a psychiatrist and what that role entails.
Mr Christopher James (parent)
Christopher practices as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon across the South East, specialising in hand and wrist conditions. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of London, before taking higher orthopaedic training at Kings College, London and Guy's and St Thomas'. he went on in 2013 to work in Brisbane, Australia, on the Upper Limb and Microsurgical Orthopaedic Fellowship programme, developing his knowledge and skills in treating complex conditions. We look forward to hearing about his experiences in the NHS, Australia and private practice.
