Henry Evans (Sc 2003-2008) Senior Director, Greystar
Henry studied History at Oxford and took a law conversion course at BPP law school in 2013/14. Working for a number of law firms including Eversheds Sutherland and Jones Day as a real estate finance lawyer, he undertook secondments at Maslow Capital and Greystar. in 2024, he became Senior Director in the Debt Capital Markets team at Greystar, a US-based real estate private equity firm. He will give us the perspective of someone who began in a legal career and how this shaped the role he has now.
Marc Lehmann (parent) Head of Physical Climate & Nat Cat Risk Advisory, Howden
Marc is an experienced professional within the risk management and insurance sectors, delivering bespoke risk advisory services, data analytics and innovative insurance solutions to major clients worldwide. After gaining and MSc in civil engineering from ETH (Zurich) and Imperial College he worked as a senior engineer on projects around the world for large engineering firms like Arup before starting his insurance career at WTW and AIG becoming Head of Catastrophe Management Solutions. A stint at KPMG as Director of Climate Risk and Decarbonisation was followed by an appointment at Jupiter Intelligence as Head of Business Development UK & Europe. In 2022 Marc took up a role with insurance broker Howden, where currently he is Head of Physical Climate Risk Advisory. He will share his knowledge of the sector and how transferable skills play a role, as well as discuss the current situation for graduates and how they can improve their CVs.
James Morton (PS 2001-06) Senior Private Banker, Syz Group
James graduated from Exeter in 2009 with a 1st in Economics and Politics and began his career in recruitment and headhunting with the Eximus Group. Moving to Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in 2011, he was initially a Private Banking Executive before becoming a Private Banker and, in 2018, he moved to the Lombard Odier Group, Zurich, for another seven years before starting with his current employer Syz Group, Zurich. He is now a Senior Private Banker and the UK lead for Syz Group. James graduated at the height of the 2008 Financial Crisis and is well placed to talk to the boys about the resilience required to succeed in this field.
Kirsty Rockall (parent) Europe Transfer Pricing Lead, Grant Thornton
After a degree in Human Geography from Reading, and an MSc in Economics from LSE, Kirsty began her career with KPMG, working in the Transfer Pricing department. Whilst there she also gained chartered status from the CIOT and her foundation qualification in Transfer Pricing, Taxation. She then relocated to KPMG Canada for two years before returning to London as a partner. In 2023 Kirsty took up the role of UK Head and then Europe Lead in Transfer Pricing for Grant Thornton and is also an Economist Member of the Upper Tribunal, Tax and Chancery Chamber in a part time capacity. Kirsty will share some of her knowledge about working for one of the Big 4 and give us some insights into the skill set required and how to put together a successful application.
