'The Challenges faced by the next Generation and their parents: an illustrated look at a complex world'
A lecture by William Day OT for the Tennant Lecture Series
Tuesday 1 November 2022
Drinks in Big School from 7.30 pm
Lecture in Big School at 8.00 pm
William Day, OT, has had a stellar career, which has included being chairman of BBC's ‘Children In Need’, CEO of Care International and general advisor to the United Nations Development Programme. His main take away from this experience is that the solution to much of the poverty he was helping to respond to was not more charity, but fairer prosperity. This was as true in the UK as it was in Ethiopia or the Sudan. In this talk Will wants to encourage his audience to consider how the past is no longer a good guide to the future, and why this generation of Tonbridge parents and boys have an amazing opportunity, and perhaps even obligation, to address some of these problems. If you want to learn more about sustainability and the future of our planet, from someone who really knows what they are talking about, this is not a talk to be missed.
This event is fully accessible.
