Street Art Tour
Thursday 4th March at 10.30am
Online via Zoom
Shoreditch and Spitalfields are vibrant areas in the East End of London, associated with street food pop-ups, designer coffee, hipster culture, and some of the most incredible urban art you will see anywhere in the world.
Join Blue Badge Tourist Guide and street art aficionado Leo Heaton for an in depth, virtual explore of this amazing corner of town and its unmistakable street art. Leo will explain the timeline of how this area went from ‘no-go’ to ‘must-see’ in the eyes of many visitors, and will introduce you to some of the best graffiti being created by major British and international artists working at the moment.
From huge wall murals and three-dimensional sculpture creations to tiny ‘slap’ stickers and political paste-ups, get ready to embrace your inner Banksy for a slice of London at its most contemporary!
Leo is an award-winning Blue Badge Tourist Guide and promises tours that are both fun and informative. She originally trained in musical theatre and performed professionally for several years, and then spent a decade working in very corporate environments - in high-end hospitality and as a Private PA and Executive Assistant - before launching her full time career as a guide in 2016. In these strange times of lockdown and limited travel, she is bringing her knowledge and enthusiasm to anyone who still craves 'a glimpse of London' via the magic of Zoom! Her specialisms include gallery and museum tours, theatre history, the contemporary and street art scenes, and the many secrets of the City of London.
This talk is being offered free of charge for all members of the Parents' Arts Society.
Registrations for this event will close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 3rd March & the Zoom link sent out shortly thereafter.
