Jewellery Classes
Vere Hodge Centre at Tonbridge School
10 weeks, 6.45pm to 8.45pm
Instructor, Julie Tucker-Williams completed a jewellery apprenticeship with the highly regarded silversmith Michael Bolton. A practising jeweller for 30 years, her love of materials and passion for organic forms have been a major influence on her work. Over 10 weeks, a hands-on approach will allow you to develop an appreciation for materials and an understanding of the processes associated with making silver jewellery. Metal and tools are available to purchase from Julie.
Julie will aim to build your confidence in using basic jewellery skills to produce unique pieces of jewellery. She will encourage you to develop your own designs, style, explore ideas and challenge you to experiment. You will primarily use silver and you will learn how to cut, solder, texture and form the metal. You will also use beads and pearls and learn knotting techniques and clasp making.
This class is not aimed at complete beginners.
