Hockney - The Arrival of Spring
Thursday 6th May at 11.00am
Online lecture via Zoom
The arrival of spring is always a thrilling time of the year and we have never needed its inspiration more than over this last year. During the first spring of the pandemic, Hockney was living in Normandy and charted each day of spring's arrival by drawing on his iPad.
This talk will look at how Hockney's drawings have developed over the decades and how he has particularly embraced new technology in his quest to depict nature around him. His drawings will give you a new perspective on spring unfolding this year and how to be energised and uplifted by paying close attention to each new moment of growth.
The talk will be given by Gayna Pelham, who is an artist and lecturer with the National Gallery.
This talk is being offered free of charge to PAS members.
Applications for this event will close on Wednsday 5th May at 5pm and the link sent out shortly thereafter.
