Our next careers evening has been requested by several boys and will be on sports related careers with a particular emphasis on football. We will be joined by four guests, two of whom are OTs, and we will cover a range of roles connected to sport.
The Speakers:
Ross Bennett (CH 05-10) - General Manager, Tonbridge Angels
Ross left Tonbridge in 2010 to study law at Birmingham University. From there he went on to work at a number of companies investigating and detecting money laundering, culminating in the role of Head of AML Investigations at the Betway Group. In May 2022 Ross joined Tonbridge Angels first as Commercial Manager and now as General Manager where he oversees the day to day running of the club including events and hospitality, 3g hire, stadium security and all commercial aspects such as sponsorship and advertising. He says first and foremost though, he is a fan.
Alastair Taylor (CH 04-09) - Senior Director, Strategy & Consultancy, CSM Sport and Entertainment
On leaving Tonbridge, Alastair completed a BSc in Economics, Finance and International Business at Oxford Brookes. He began his career interning at Influence Sports and the Essentiallly Group, before moving on to work as a Marketing and Research co-ordinator at SNTV - Sports News Television. He went on to work as a Sports Video and Data Analysist at MIDiA Research focussing on video streaming services, subscriptions and data trends. This was followed by a year at The Sports Consultancy as a Senior Consultant, before taking on his current role as Senior Director, Strategy & Consultancy at CSM Sport and Entertainment.

Claire Molyneuex - Events Manager, The Premier League
Claire has worked in the Football Industry for 22 years. After completing A Levels, she started her career at Millwall Football Club back in 2001 working across all First Team Operations.
She then joined the Premier League in 2017 firstly working within the Youth Department. Seeing the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan and watching the Academy Games Programme grow from two events to over 200 in a season and is proud of the influence the Premier League has made to the next generation of players, many whom she has witnessed mature from an U9 player to making their debut in the Premier League.
Claire now works across the varied programme of Premier League events in the UK and across the world. These include Pre-Season Tournaments, Fan Fests, Premier League Hall of Fame and the End-of-Season Trophy Presentation.
Dr Elisabete Cardoso - Assistant Professor in Sport Management, University of Bath
Having started her career in City finance with roles both at Citi and Barclays, Dr Cardoso gained her PhD at Bath in Business Administration and Higher Education. She lectured at Coventry University for two years, before returning to Bath as the Deputy Director of Studies, Sport Management and Coaching and as Assistant Professor in Sports Management. Dr Cardoso will give us an overview of the sports related courses on offer at Bath and the careers that these can lead to.
