ART TREASURES OF MADRID: ART STUDY DAY WITH VAL WOODGATE Friday 1st November 10.30 – 3.30pm, Cawthorne Lecture Theatre
This session looks at the collections of three of Madrid’s most celebrated galleries. The Prado, one of the most famous and important galleries in the world, home to an outstanding collection of European art, including the world’s largest display of the works of Bosch, Goya and Velasquez. The Thyssen-Bornemisza houses an exceptional collection of nearly 1,000 pieces including works by Duccio, Dürer, Murillo, Holbein, Constable, Hopper, Dali and Kandinsky. The Reina Sofia is the home of modern art and displays contemporary art and some important early 20th century works. Lunch with wine is included.
