Former pupils spanning seven decades returned to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Judde House on Sunday, 5 July, in what proved to be a truly memorable day of friendship, nostalgia and celebration.

Bathed in glorious summer sunshine, more than 150 Old Tonbridgians (OTs) gathered to mark this significant milestone, with attendees representing every generation from recent leavers through to John Weston, who left the School in 1955.

The reunion was made even more special by the attendance of two former Judde Housemasters and their families. Graeme and Debbie Gales and Mike and Marianne Bully were warmly welcomed back, delighting many former pupils who were pleased to reconnect and share memories of their time together.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed tours of the School and, of course, Judde House itself. Walking the familiar corridors sparked countless stories and recollections as old friends reminisced about boarding life and their school days.

A delicious hog roast lunch kept everyone well fed, while Martin Brennan from The George and Dragon provided a popular pop-up bar that proved to be a lively focal point for catching up with old friends and making new connections across the generations.

The celebrations concluded in fitting fashion with a cricket match, as an OT XI dusted off their whites to take on Cowdrey Cricket Club, a local Tonbridge side. Despite the passing years, the alumni showed they had lost little of their competitive spirit, securing a well-deserved victory to round off a perfect day.

The bicentenary reunion was a wonderful celebration of Judde House's rich history and enduring community spirit. Bringing together so many former pupils, staff and friends, the event highlighted the lifelong friendships and lasting connections that continue to define Judde House 200 years after its foundation.
