Two of the UK's most well-known names in TV production, Peter Fincham and Jimmy Mulville are fronting a ten-part series Insiders: The TV Podcast, in which they promise an exclusive peek into the world of television.

Each week, Peter and Jimmy, who see themselves as “fierce friends and former rival TV bosses", will deliver personal stories and insider anecdotes. They will also analyse controversies, trends and triumphs that have shaped television over the decades and today.

Peter Fincham has been a commissioner and producer throughout a four decade career. He began at Talkback in 1985, becoming its Managing Director a year later. He was the Executive Producer for many of the company’s biggest shows including The Day Today, Brass Eye, I’m Alan Partridge, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Smack The Pony, and Da Ali G Show. He went on to become Controller of BBC One and Director of Television at ITV. Since 2017, he has been co-CEO of Expectation, responsbile for Clarkson's Farm.

Jimmy Muville was one of the founders of Hat Trick Productions in 1986. His list of hit shows includes Have I Got News For You, Father Ted, Derry Girls, Outnumbered, and Episodes.

Peter says: “In our new podcast you can expect to hear all the things you won’t get to read about in Broadcast Magazine. I’m looking forward to dissecting the state of the industry each week with Jimmy as well as sharing our own experiences of working in television. In short, we’re going to get to together once a week to gossip!”

Jimmy adds: “They say there are two things you don’t want to see being made – sausages and television. Well, Peter and I have seen how lots of TV is made and we still love it and love to talk about it. We also love sausages but we won’t be talking about them. Tune in and hear what TV is like from the inside.”

New episodes will be released weekly on Fridays and each episode will feature candid discussions exploring everything from iconic shows and legendary executives to the shifting landscape of streaming, broadcasting, and audience habits.

Insiders: The TV Podcast is available now.
