On a beautiful sunny Saturday in June, the School welcomed Old Ferocians from 1946 to 1961 and their partners, back for lunch.
The idea was originally conceived by the late Martin Colvill (FH 54-58), Chris Cotton (FH 55-59), Michael Somers (FH 56-61) and James Stewart (FH 56-61), naming themselves the 'Ancient Ferocians' back in 2022. All were under the care of the great Ferox Housemaster, James McNeill (Paddymac) during their time at Tonbridge, and wanted to gather once again at Ferox to reconnect and remember good times past.
The event was well attended, and we were delighted to welcome back two of Paddymac's sons, Ian and Patrick who had grown up in Ferox. Ian had not been back since he left over 50 years ago and they were thrilled to have a tour of their old house by the current Housemaster, Chris Eades. There were lots of memories re-lived.
Richard Spurring also returned with his daughter having been Head of House back in 1951. James Stewart made a heartwarming and nostalgic speech, thanking James Priory and everyone for attending with special thanks to the McNeill brothers.
