Covering more than 1,600km in just 37 days, at an average of 45 km per day, Freddie has raised over £17,000 for Young Lives vs Cancer.

While much of this challenge was a solo effort, the Tonbridge community showed its strength, with no less than 15 Old Tonbridgians joining Freddie along the way, including Connor Coogan (PS 20-25), Alex Titchener (WH 20-25), Seamus Hamilton (WW 20-25), Freddie Mulder (WW/JH 20-25) Jack Kirkland (JH 20-25), George Holder (Sc 20-25), Alex Bullock (FH 20-25), Liam Bartholet (JH 20-25), Luke Dimond (PH 20-25) and Tristan Peters (MH 20-25).

Charlie (FH4) also ran two marathons with his brother during half-term.

Freddie met up with several other OTs in university towns (Exeter, Bristol, Edinburgh) who treated him to several pints and large uni breakfasts!

He says "It feels very strange to have finished and I’m yet to fully process it. The journey presented me with many challenges - widespread flooding in the west country, map reading mishaps in the sometimes snowy, sometimes boggy peak district and infected bed bug bites from a shoddy Hostel in Wolverhampton, just to name a few. For all the challenges though I was rewarded in equal measure. The natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, the stunning sunrise on Dartmoor and the remote glens of the Cairngorms were particular highlights. I have been left with the real impression that Britain’s beautiful land and charming spirit of her people are both greatly underappreciated".

On behalf of everyone at Tonbridge, congratulations and well done, Freddie!
