Kent batter and OT (WH 11-16) Zak Crawley has been named in both the England Men’s squad for the Ashes Tour of Australia this Winter and, for the first time, an England Men IT20 squad to face New Zealand before the Ashes begins. Crawley, who has opened with Ben Duckett in recent years, is part of the 16-strong squad.
The 27-year-old is the only player from Rothesay County Championship Division Two selected in England’s Men’s Ashes squad this Winter.
He has played 59 Test matches for England to date and has scored 3,313 runs at an average of 31.55.
Batsman Crawley, who played for Wembley Districts in the West Australian First Grade competition in 2016 and 2017, has previous Ashes experience. He has also played in the Australian T20 Big Bash League for Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers.
Crawley last played for Kent in the Spitfires’ T20 Blast quarter-final defeat to Lancashire in early September, scoring 27 from No.3.
