Very many congratulations to the OT Cricket Club who have reached the Final of the Cricketer Cup for the third year running.

Mark Pettman, Chairman of the OT Cricket Club, reports....

"I am delighted to let you know that the OT Cricket Club has reached a third consecutive Final of the Cricketer Cup after an exciting victory in the Semi-Final against Millfield on the Head.

Batting first against a strong competitive Millfield side, we reached 223-9 off 50 overs with excellent contributions again from Will Nolan (75) and Harry Bevan-Thomas (56). In reply, Millfield got off to a flier and were 47-0 off 7 overs. Captain Hugo Snape threw the ball to the dependable and wily Tom Coldman (3-32) who took the vital wicket of Hankins first ball and we were back in the game. Sam Hadfield (4-40) did the same trick with his first ball and all the spinners did an excellent job of picking up regular wickets. With 50 to win, Millfield were 9 wickets down, but the last partnership were making dangerous progress at 200-9 before Sam Hadfield induced a top edge from their no 8 – Ed Hyde took with skier with the gloves and we had won by 23 runs.

The last three rounds have resulted in excellent wins against Malvern and Repton (both away) and now Millfield. It has been a wonderful team effort from the entire squad.

The Final will take place against the Old Bedfordians at Arundel on Sunday 10 August  – 11.30am start. All support would be most welcome."

We wish the OTs all the very best on Sunday 10 August.
