Tonbridge School's Giving Day campaign was awarded the 'Engagement Campaign of the Year' in 2023's IDPE (Institute of Development Professionals in Education) Awards, which took place in November.

Just two other schools were nominated in this category, with other IDPE member schools voting for the eventual winner.

Tonbridge's Giving Day has been a remarkable success since its inception in 2021, having raised over £1.5 million in total, and £525,000 in 2023's event alone. Giving Day, which takes place at the end of each Summer Term, fundraises to increase the number of bursary places at the School, and all donations received go to the Foundation Awards to offer life changing educational opportunities to boys.

The entire School is involved in making the event a success, with exciting events such as 'Taskmaster challenges' and visits from local primary school children, who enjoyed activities such as science, archery and sports, inspiring a 'culture of philanthropy' from the School and the wider community. A total of 675 generous donors supported 2023's Giving Day and contributed to the total raised. It is hoped that the event will only continue to grow in anticipation of the School's ambition to increase the number of awarded bursaries by 2028, Tonbridge's 475th Anniversary.
