The Lives of Others starring Keira Knightley, Stephen Dillane and Luke Thompson. Set in East Germany in 1984, the narrative centres on a writer and an actor placed under constant state surveillance, while a Stasi officer secretly monitors their lives from an attic above their apartment. The production marks a renewed collaboration between Robert Icke and Sonia Friedman following previous work including Oedipus, Manhunt, Hamlet, The Doctor, Oresteia and 1984.
