The Dawn Chorus
A Guided Walk Experience with Bird Expert Tom Forward
Danehill, East Sussex. RH18 5JN
Friday 8 May 2026
5am to 7am
Celebrate the much-needed coming of Spring to the backing soundtrack of the glorious Dawn Chorus. Arrive before sunrise and set out on foot over open heath and through woodland to tune into the dawn chorus crescendo with wildlife guide and bird expert Tom Forward. Tom will help you interpret the soundscape and the different birdsong, and we will hope for encounters with some of the rare species that call the Forest home. We will stop in places to be still and just listen, so wrap up extra warm and bring a hot flask of your favourite brew to sip on.
Key information:
Please wear warm clothing and sturdy footwear. Tom is crafting this experience on flatter trails to allow less challenging access on this occasion. Please note that the terrain is uneven so although the pace will be gentle, a moderate level of fitness is required. You may wish to bring a flask of your preferred hot beverage. We will finish our adventure at 7am.
Please note that there are no toilets on site.
We will meet at Long U Car Park, Danehill, RH18 5JN. What3Words///clouding.woke.moons
