The Bayeux Tapestry: A Talk and Tour
Wednesday 9 December 2026
at 11.30am
The British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG
For the first time in almost 1,000 years, the world-famous Bayeux Tapestry is returning to the UK. On loan from France and displayed at the British Museum, this extraordinary 70-metre embroidery tells the story of the Norman Conquest of 1066, one of the most significant events in English history.
Our visit begins with an exclusive private talk by expert Blue Badge guide Caroline Bowkley, before viewing the tapestry itself at the British Museum. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the museum, do some Christmas shopping, or take in London's festive atmosphere and lights.
