Planting the Perfect Springtime Bulb Lasagna
Wednesday 14 October 2026
10.30am to 12.30pm
Planters, Orchard Farm, London Road, Hurst Green. TN19 7QS
Join us at Planters for a fun, hands-on workshop where you will learn the art of planting a bulb lasagna - a layered planting technique that delivers a succession of blooms from early to late spring, all from a single pot.
Just like your favourite Italian dish, a bulb lasagna layers different bulbs one on top of another. The result? A continuous floral show as early crocuses give way to mid-spring narcissi, followed by late-spring alliums or tulips.
What you will learn:
How to choose bulbs that bloom in sequence.
The correct layering order (deepest to shallowest).
Pot selection, drainage and soil tips.
How to water and store pots for spring success.
What's included:
One large terracotta pot (with aged patina).
Bulb potting mix.
A selection of spring bulbs (crocus, allium, daffodil, tulip).
Step-by-step guidance from Planters' nursery team.
Coffee and cake afterwards in Planters' Cafe.
Who should come along:
Perfect for beginners, container gardeners or anyone looking to add drama to patios, balconies or front steps with very little effort.
No experience needed - just bring your enthusiasm and maybe an apron!
Planters is an independent plant centre and nursery, farm shop and garden cafe in Hurst Green on the Kent/East Sussex border, championning local producers and growing on-site.
Bonus: all attendees receive 10% off any single garden tool or bag of bulbs at Planters on the day of the workshop.

Cost: £45.50
