The Higher Education and Careers department is delighted to introduce a stellar line-up of speakers for their forthcoming Finance & the City careers evening to be held virtually on 29 November at 7.30pm.
Alison Rose Chief Executive NatWest Group plc. Ms Rose was appointed Chief Executive of NatWest group plc in 2019 having joined the bank as a graduate in 1992. The first woman to lead one of the UK’s big four banks, Alison has previously been shortlisted for the ‘most influential woman in investment banking’ award by Financial News, included in the Women in FinTech Powerlist and named in Vogue’s Top 25 Most Influential Women.
Clare Flanagan Partner and Head of Client Development Capital Generation Partners. Ms Flanagan runs the CapGen client development function, working with trustees, consultants and family office executives to match clients’ requirements with the investment services of the firm. Before joining CapGen in 2013, Clare was a Business Development Manager for Northern Trust’s Wealth Management Group in EMEA. Prior to that she worked at Brown Brothers Harriman as a Relationship Manager working with large fund manager clients across Europe.
Matt Worby (CH 2009 -2014) Content and Sales Trading Olivetree Financial Ltd. Matt studied Neuroscience at Bristol after leaving Tonbridge, and then embarked on a series of placements and internships in the finance sector. He was picked from a huge list of applicants to intern at Olivetree Financial and they made his role permanent on completion of his placement.
We’ll hear about their own career paths, get an overview on the sector with their thoughts on the changes to working practices, caused by both external events and FinTech development and how they would suggest a graduate get noticed in the jobs market.
