Exploring Fleet Street - A Guided Walk
Wednesday 3 June 2026
11.30am to 1pm
Fleet Street, London
Join us on another historic walk with Anne Fletcher, a qualified City of London guide, historian and author, as we explore Fleet Street.
Fleet Street is the spiritual home of the newspaper industry. Once the pavements vibrated to the sound of printing presses as they churned out the news for an expectant nation. However, Fleet Street's story is far richer, as lawyers, bankers, publicans and authors plied their trades here. The 'Street of the Ink' has a cast of characters and events that make it one of the most interesting streets in England. From being the birthplace of the wedding cake and commercial printing, to the haunt of Dr Johnson and the legendary Demon Barber, Fleet Street has a story to fascinate and enthral young and old.
