Alison Rose, Chief Executive, Natwest Group Plc
Alison, a Tonbridge parent, is Chief Executive NatWest Group plc. Alison was appointed to her current role in 2019 having joined the bank as a graduate in 1992. The first woman to lead one of the UK’s big four banks, Alison has previously been shortlisted for the 'most influential woman in investment banking' award by Financial News, included in the Women in FinTech Powerlist and named in Vogue’s Top 25 Most Influential Women.
Alison’s diverse career at NatWest has included several senior leadership roles, including Deputy CEO NatWest Holdings, Chief Executive of Commercial & Private Banking, Head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Markets & International Banking and Global Head of International Banking Capital and Balance Sheet. A passionate supporter of diversity she now sits on the Rose Review Board and is responsible for driving forward its recommendations.
Clare Flanagan, Partner and Head of Client Development, CapGen
Clare is also a Tonbridge parent and is Partner and Head of Client Development at CapGen. Clare runs the CapGen client development function, working with trustees, consultants and family office executives to match clients’ requirements with the investment services of the firm.
Before joining CapGen in 2013, Clare was a Business Development Manager for Northern Trust’s Wealth Management Group in EMEA. Prior to that she worked at Brown Brothers Harriman as a Relationship Manager working with large fund manager clients across Europe. Clare studied English and Related Literatures at York University.
Matt Worby, Associate, Oliveree Global Investment Bank
Matt Worby (CH 09 – 14) is an Associate within the Equity division of Olivetree Global Investment Bank. Matt started at Olivetree as a summer intern in 2019 after he graduated from Bristol University, and then subsequently was taken on as a Graduate Analyst later that year.
Matt will tell us about his route into the financial sector, and the steps he took whilst at university and then after to secure his position. He will also reflect on the importance of internships or work experience in gaining a role upon graduation.
