We are delighted to be able to offer this thrilling opportunity once again to witness how one of the most impressive and powerful instruments is played.
In this unique masterclass inside the stunning Chapel at Tonbridge School, we will be seated in the Organist's loft and will be able to see up close how this incredible instrument operates. We will take a look at how organ sheet music differs from other instrumental sheet music and (if you are feeling brave!) even have a go!
Tonbridge Organist Julian Thomas joined the School in 2007 and is Head of Academic Music and Chapel Choirmaster. Previously he was an Organ Scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge and Lincoln Cathedral and Assistant Organist at Norwich Cathedral. Julian will guide us through an introduction on the workings of the Organ before taking us through some of the most popular and well-known organ pieces, renowned for their powerful sound, complex harmonies and captivating melodies.
We invite you to join us in the cloisters before we head up to the Organist's loft to begin this very special masterclass.
