The Royal Parks are renowned for their fabulous seasonal planting displays, from Spring's informal swathes of narcissi and crocus and meticulously planted carpets of tulips and wallflowers, to vibrant summer beds of salvias, dahlias, cannas and other exotics. How are these high standards of horticultural excellence achieved and in such vast quantity? The Royal Parks invested in an innovative new £5 million 'Super Nursery' in Hyde Park to enable them to achieve even greater heights. With sustainability and organic innovations as a key feature and incredibly high tech climatic controls, the glasshouse covers 8,000 square metres and supplies in excess of 500,000 plants with over 1,400 different varieties to six of the Royal Parks each year.

Not generally open to the public, we have secured a special private tour to view this outstanding facility which is hidden away in the centre of Hyde Park. Guests will tour this highly impressive glasshouse with our knowledgeable guide and learn just how the Nursery manages to supply hundreds of thousands of plants every year in an environmentally friendly manner, ensuring that each park has a distinctive, gloriously colourful and seasonal display of the highest calibre at exactly the right time.
