Acclaimed operatic tenor Mark Le Brocq will lead a masterclass with singers from the Sixth Form at Tonbridge, before performing a solo recital of opera, song and musical theatre.
Mark Le Brocq is one of Britain’s leading tenors, with a career spanning opera houses, concert halls and festivals around the world. A former choral scholar at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, he trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio before becoming a Company Principal at English National Opera. He has since performed with Welsh National Opera, Scottish Opera, Opera North, Longborough Festival Opera, Grange Park Opera and many other major companies, in repertoire ranging from Mozart and Handel to Wagner, Britten and contemporary opera. On the concert platform he has appeared with leading orchestras and ensembles including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, English Concert and Academy of Ancient Music, with performances at the BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall and St Paul’s Cathedral. His recordings include releases for Chandos, Deutsche Grammophon, Hyperion and Opera Rara.
