The annual Tonbridge Science Conference recently took place, with students from across the United Kingdom gathering in the School's Barton Science Centre to collaborate and present their research within two presentation sessions.

Participating students shared their work and then hosted a Question and Answer session, where attendees were encouraged to engage and collaborate with their peers and further explore presented topics such as quantum tunnelling and the neuroendocrine system.

The event was also host to international schools, with students representing Jishukan High School from Japan and Los Altos High School, California in attendance. UK schools who attended the Conference included Sevenoaks, Epsom College, Benenden, King’s Canterbury, Westminster, Woldingham, Judd, Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar, Weald of Kent and St Gregory’s.

The event also featured visiting professors; Professor Stephen Rauschenbach from the University of Oxford, Professor Neil Allan from the University of Bristol and Dr Gray Turnock, special advisory to the European Space Agency.

The event, which has been hosted by Tonbridge for over a decade, proved to be an excellent opportunity for pupils to collaborate with peers and hear innovative presentations from field experts.
