Old Tonbridgian, Tony Joy is a consultant specialising in Emergency Medicine. After medical school he won a prestigious scholarship in clinical leadership and is now in charge of an award-winning response unit, which deals with 999 calls. Tony was one of the first responders on the scene of the Westminster Terror attacks in 2017, landing in Parliament Square within 6 minutes of being alerted to the attack. In his talk he will reflect on the current state of the NHS and tell us about the latest in cutting edge casualty medicine, including the air ambulance, which involves ‘taking the emergency department to the patient.’
