Tonbridge recently hosted the opening of Wells Language Hub, a collaboration between several schools in Kent funded by the Department of Education, which aims to foster and develop the promotion of language learning in local pupils.

The event was held in the EM Forster Theatre and speakers included Danilo McGarry, who is ranked top 20 in his field of Artificial Intilligence and a Ted Keynote Speaker, Michelle Howard, a Government relations and strategic policy advisor in space and defence, Duncan Lowe, advisor to the Board of Campari Group, and award-winning translator Adriana Hunter.

Local educators Gabby Hernandez, Assistant Principal at The Skinners' Kent Academy, Hannah Knowles, Principle at The Skinners' Kent Academy, and Donna Kane, Head of Languages at Dartford Grammar School, also spoke at the event.

Of the opening of the Hub, Tonbridge School's Head of Modern Languages Will Law said: "The talks provided food for thought for gifted and talented linguists from across the county, and we hope that many of them will feel inspired and empowered to continue on their language learning journey."
