First Principle have just released their second 4-track EP, The Dream EP.

First Principle's music is ambitious and varied. Toby, the songwriter and guitarist, unifies old school virtuosic blues-rock guitar with a female pop vocal and infuses world music influences, such as Qawwali and Indian Classical. Toby is currently learning the tabla, a pair of Indian drums, which the band will integrate into future recordings to further broaden the scope of their catalogue of songs. Charles is the drummer and he mixes the songs, and the OTs co-produce them. Their singer, Anne Vanderelst, has a musical theatre background and is a Belgian native, residing between Belgium and England.

Their plans are to embark upon a larger recording project towards the end of the year, and then they plan to organise gigs in 2025, alongside the release of their next batch of songs. You can follow their progress on Instagram @firstprincipleband and you can hear their eight currently released tracks on all major streaming platforms.

We wish First Principle all the best and look forward to hearing more from them.
