Knepp Walking Safari
Tuesday 3 May at 2pm - 5pm
Knepp Wildland Safaris
Join a private guided walk around the beautiful 3,500 acre Knepp estate near Horsham, West Sussex, soaking up the sounds and sights of the pioneering rewilding project, as written about in Isabella Tree’s bestselling 2018 book, ‘Wilding’.
Guided by one of the expert ecologists at a gentle pace, there is plenty of time to take in the astonishing wildlife - from the herds of free-roaming long horn cattle, red and fallow deer, Exmoor ponies and Tamworth pigs, to delicate butterflies, dragonflies, insects and reptiles.
Knepp is also a paradise for all bird lovers. It is a chance to spot, and listen to the songs of, some of the most rare breeds of birds in the UK as well as a host of more common ones.
Walking will be for 2.5 - 3 hours, stopping at sites of interest in the rewilded areas along the way. You will need a moderate level of fitness and be able to cope with walking on uneven ground (weather appropriate clothing and footwear is advised). Mid way through the safari there will be a break for a drink and chocolate brownies (please advise of any allergies in advance).
No dogs are allowed on the Walk on the Wild Side Safari.
Places: 10
Cost: £69.50
